Life is full of struggles, but even in our darkest moments, we can find hope and maintain a song in our hearts. Through Psalm 119, we discover powerful truths about God’s faithfulness and His ability to complete what He starts in our lives.
Why Do We Struggle to Maintain Hope?
The enemy’s primary goal is to void hope in our lives. Without hope, people perish. When we lose sight of tomorrow and can’t find joy in life’s simple pleasures, we become vulnerable to despair. However, we serve a God who is faithful to complete what He starts in us.
What Types of Struggles Do We Face?
Health Struggles
Physical afflictions can test our faith severely. Whether facing a health crisis or dealing with chronic conditions, it’s challenging to maintain hope. Yet, we can find comfort knowing that God remains in control and will complete His work in us.
Hate Struggles
Dealing with opposition, derision, and hatred can drain our hope. Sometimes we struggle with inherited prejudices or learned hatred. These negative emotions can prevent us from experiencing God’s full purpose for our lives.
Personal Theological Struggles
Wrestling with questions about God’s nature, why bad things happen to good people, and other philosophical challenges can shake our faith. However, these struggles can lead to deeper understanding when we remain grounded in God’s Word.
How Can We Find Our Song in the Struggle?
· Remember God’s Word and promises
· Focus on God’s character rather than circumstances
· Trust that God will complete what He started
· Allow personal struggles to become testimonies that help others
· Maintain faith even when you don’t feel it
Life Application
This week, identify your current struggle and consciously choose to trust God’s completion process. Ask yourself:
· What is robbing me of hope right now?
· Am I allowing my struggles to silence my song?
· How can I practically demonstrate trust in God’s completion process?
Challenge: Write down one specific struggle you’re facing and beside it, write a truth from God’s Word that directly addresses that struggle. Each morning, speak that truth aloud as a declaration of faith over your situation.
Remember: God is not just the starter of your faith journey – He is the completer. Whatever struggle you’re facing, He can give you a song in the night and hope for tomorrow.
