Slingin' Biscuits
A Ministry of Open Door Church

At Open Door Church, we believe in serving others as Christ served, and Slingin' Biscuits is one of our cherished opportunities to share His love in action. Under the guidance of ministry originator Tracy Detter, this outreach focuses on meeting a basic need with warmth, kindness, and the love of Jesus.

When & Where:
This ministry takes place on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Saturdays (if applicable) of each month. We gather at 6:00 AM in the Fellowship Hall at Open Door Church to prepare a delicious homemade breakfast.

What We Do:
Our team works together to cook hearty breakfast sandwiches, brew fresh coffee, and provide refreshing juices for the local homeless shelter. Once the meals are ready, we travel as a group to the shelter, serving each person with a smile and offering encouragement. Through these simple acts, we aim to reflect the biblical example of Christ’s servant-hearted love.

Why We Do It:
The heart of Slingin' Biscuits is more than just providing a meal; it’s about building relationships, showing compassion, and demonstrating God’s care for everyone. This ministry is an opportunity for us to be the hands and feet of Jesus, feeding the body while nourishing the spirit.

How You Can Get Involved:
We are always excited to welcome new volunteers! Whether you love to cook, enjoy connecting with others, or simply want to support this ministry through prayer, there is a place for you here. Join us on one of these special Saturdays and experience the joy of serving others in a meaningful way.

Together, let’s make a difference—one biscuit at a time.
